Hotel Selkirk - Fort Edmonton Park

I had a lot of fun photographing the rooms in Hotel Selkirk yesterday as well as executive chef Henry Palmer. Pauline was awesome as she played with Linnea the entire time and Linnea even got to take home the Hotel Selkirk teddy bear! Thank you! Linnea 7 months old

Linnea, our daughter, is now 7 months old and more and more fun and interactive. She enjoys "playing" piano, reading books (sucking on the pages), playing in her exersaucer and jumping in her merry muscles. She loves long walks in her stroller when it's not too cold out and sucking on anything she can get her hands on. She has enjoyed yams and other solid foods and has 4 teeth. Here's a photo I took of her a couple weeks ago.

I went to Coleman, Alberta in the Crowsnest Pass over the August long weekend and enjoyed photographing around the town. Here is a shot of the old Roxy Theatre where live theatre was performed regularly at one point. They're trying to revive this and get theatre groups from Lethbridge to come and perform but currently it's shut down.

What a fabulous weekend we all had! It started off with a fun bbq on Friday night at the main public park in Banff by the Bow River and then Saturday was an all day wedding at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. This was a fabulous location choice by this awesome couple who are also great friends of mine! I thoroughly enjoyed capturing your wedding even though it was sweltering hot outside. Being in the mountains was just gorgeous and the entire day was simply amazing for all who were there. Playing Rock Band was definitely a highlight for the guests!! Congratulations to you both!

Linnea is already 3 months old! We've enjoyed her so much and so have many of our friends and family. Since she was born we've had family come and go visiting from all over the continent. She turns 3 months old on Monday (our 7th year anniversary, July 28th!) She giggles, squeals, "talks" alot and kicks more than ever! She almost rolled over yesterday too but I honestly don't think that will truly occur for weeks! She's growing so fast and every day is different. She has been sleeping through the night all week which is a blessing. She's such a happy and content baby! Enjoy the latest images I took of her!

Rafal & Kinga are getting married in Poland and unfortunately, I'm not able to join them to photograph their wedding in August. I did, however, have the opportunity to take their engagement photos and had such a great time doing so. We toured downtown on foot and came across a lot of great locations. Elk Island National Park Family Getaway

Jeff, Linnea and I took off yesterday evening for Elk Island Park...we were intending for this to be a day trip but in the end we didn't get out of the city until after 5pm including having to come home twice after forgetting important items (i.e. the diaper bag!)

When we arrived we found an area where we were all alone and were right on the lake. Jeff started a fire after having to feed it oxygen by waving a newspaper at it for a long time. Once burning nicely we had supper and I took photos around the area including the friendly but persistent squirrel who wanted our food. The sun then began to set and in rolled in a storm. We had my SLR camera as well as our P and S camera so we we have a variety of shots to share with you. The rainbow after the storm was gorgeous and then the sky turned a glorious pink with some cool textures in the clouds. The steam from the ground that rose more and more as it got later was a highlight. We saw a lot of bison off the side of the road on our way out at 10:30pm.

On our drive home a deer ran across the highway right in front of us. It was pretty spectacular to see this graceful creature jump the fence.

What a fantastic day! The weather was incredible with the warm sun in the afternoon. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Brendan & Nadine and they're a fantastic couple and have now become friends. Their love and compassion for each other, their friends & family is apparent in everything they say and do. What an inspiration this day was for me. I am so thankful for the life that God has given me. Thanks guys for a fun day!!

Jonathan & Dawn's Wedding - September 8, 2007

What a fun day we had! We got poured on, hailed on as we were trying to hide under trees and umbrellas during the portrait session. This was the most wet I'd ever gotten during a session before! We dined in the limo and enjoyed some play time in Emily Murphy Park in Edmonton as well! Jonathan & Dawn both play soccer, so it was quite fitting for them to get the soccer ball out on their wedding day and kick it around for awhile. Congratulations Jonathan & Dawn! - Rachel J

I'm finally getting caught up after a very busy September!! Because of many changes in my life, things got a little crazy for me, but they're more under control now. :)

Peter and Barb's wedding day here in Edmonton was a blast! I've never laughed so much in one day! We had great weather overall and enjoyed our time throughout the day. Barb was a fantastic bride - completely relaxed and calm and went with the flow for the entire day. Thanks for a great time and enjoy the photos!

In the past couple of months I've done some shooting for the City of Edmonton. Here you will see some images of cemetaries and an image of the Blatchford Hangar all decorated at Fort Edmonton Park.

Northern Lights

On Monday my cousin-in-law Jenny was married at Nakoda Lodge close to Canmore, Alberta. After the reception I enjoyed just sitting by the lake looking at the stars. To my amazement there were some Northern Lights and I witnessed about 5 shooting stars. One particular shooting star was absolutely incredible. It shot across the sky with a huge tail lasting about 10-15 seconds. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. I didn't have a tripod and only one lens so the shot that you see here is crooked but I don't even mind it like that and I did my best doing a 30 second exposure without a remote release. It's truly amazing how fast the stars travel in such a short period of time. I think more night shooting is in my near future!

Alex & Krystal's Wedding - July 14, 2007

Since I've been gone to Image Explorations and then took a couple days to explore Tofino's rainforests and the ocean I haven't had a chance to upload some of Alex & Krystal's fun wedding images. What a fun day we had, but boy was it hot!!! We were all dripping and wiping the sweat off our faces. It was still a ton of fun. We had such a relaxed time! Thanks for a great day A & K!
